    Dr. Jan Halamek was invited to present research of his group at “NIJ - Innovations in Technology to Advance Forensic Science” symposium which will be held as part of the

     

    6th Annual National Institute of Justice Forensic Science Symposium (NIJ FSS) at Pittcon 2023 in person in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, Saturday, March 18th – Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023.

    The program of the NIJ FSS includes two invited symposia, two organized contributed sessions and a poster session.

     

    The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, referred to internationally as Pittcon organizes an annual Conference and Exposition on laboratory science.

     

    The Conference has traditionally been the most attended annual conference on analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy in the world.

    Pittcon presents several awards each year to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the various fields in analytical chemistry.

    Dr. Jan Halamek was recently invited to serve on the “Forensic Olfactronic”, international workshop

     

     

    Dr. Jan Halamek was recently invited to serve on on “Forensic Olfactronic”, international workshop, which initial meeting will take place in Prague, Czech Republic in September 2022. The workshop will accommodate a closer community of established experts in the field of human scent and chemical analysis for forensic purposes, as well as the individual identification of persons. Workshop is organized by University of Chemistry and Technology in collaboration with the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic, the aim is to organize a community of forensic researchers from the Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea and perhaps from Russia.

     

    This working group will also form a steering committee for a future international colloquium/meeting on “Human scent chemical analysis for forensic purposes”.

    Dr. Jan Halámek and graduate student Morgan Eldridge recently published a study in ACS Omega titled “Determination of Time Since Deposition of Fingerprints via Colorimetric Assays.” They were also chosen to submit an alternate cover for this iteration of the journal.

    Jan Halámek Appointed Associate Editor for Forensic Chemistry, a specialty section of Frontiers in Analytical Science

    Dr. Jan Halámek has been appointed as an Associate Editor for Forensic Chemistry, a specialty section of Frontiers in Analytical Science. Frontiers is a leading open-access science platform which covers more than 900 academic disciplines. The Analytical Science journal specifically focuses on research related to the development and application of techniques for detecting, analyzing, and monitoring chemicals and chemical/biochemical systems.
