Thank you for your interest in the Department of Environmental Toxicology at Texas Tech University!

You can apply at the following link:

https://www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/admissions/howtoapply.php

The application requirements are:

College Transcripts, CV, GRE, English Proficiency Exam (if applicable), 2 Recommendation Letters, Personal Statement, Research Statement, and a Written Sample of Publications (optional). The deadline for Spring 2022 is September 15th and the deadline for Fall 2022 is March 15th.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, testing centers for the GRE may have closed. The GRE requirement is optional for Spring 2022, but strongly recommended. International applicants that do not have an exemption may use Duolingo or TOEFL at Home to assess English proficiency.

You will need to establish communication with at least one faculty member and attempt to secure an advisor before the Admissions Committee reviews your application. You should list your potential advisor(s) on your application.

We have an Admissions Committee that reviews applications, makes the final decision on admission, and also makes the recommendation for students to take leveling courses. The Admissions Committee also ranks the applications and makes a recommendation for the Research Assistantship. Students’ application packets are reviewed holistically. Stipends are competitive and limited.

Research areas include: Aquatic Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Human Health Sciences, Environmental Chemistry, Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Infectious Disease Research, Wildlife Toxicology, Fibers, Protective Textiles and Countermeasures to Chemical Toxins among others.

****Our department is not on the main TTU campus; it is about 20 minutes away from it. There is no public transportation but help among fellow students can be requested until you are able to provide your own transportation. Our department is located at 1207 S. Gilbert Dr., Lubbock, TX 79416.****

Please let me know if you have any questions. I attached a brochure for you to view. Please feel free to post/pass this along to anyone that may be interested. We look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you
